REVISED 7/25/08

Halter Show : Show Division : Refunds : Vet Check

Judges:
Judge David Barboza for Halter
Judge Ruth Elvestad for Fleece

Judging will be based on 50/50 (50% fleece, 50% conformation)

Stalls: Will be 9’x9’ and will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. Your registration must be complete. You may send in your reservation and the appropriate amount for your stalls NOW and send in your registration of animals later. Be sure to include the mandatory disclosure form.

Make new contacts this year by not requesting to be next to your best friend. This may help your marketing program!

Stalls will be in the Compton arena only and sit on compacted dirt. Stalls may be used for farm displays or alpacas in the show. No more than 2 adults or 3 juveniles may occupy any stall. Straw or hay bales are NOT allowed in the arena. Mats or carpet should be used for bedding. 4H kids will be on hand to help clean stalls for a fee. An 18” wide table and two chairs are permitted in the aisle.

If you are sharing a stall, please have one ranch pay the full fee for the stall, and let the registrar know with whom you are sharing.

Shorn vs. Full Fleece Halter Entries:
Please take extra care to measure your animal's fleece.
Full fleece Huacaya needs to be at least 2” long (no maximum for Juveniles, 8” maximum for all others).
Show Division Handbook pages 8-16 and 17.
Shorn Huacaya: pages 8-18 and 19.

Full fleece Suri – Juvenile: minimum 3”, no maximum.
Yearling: 3”-9”; Yearling: 3”- No maximum (not previously shorn)
All others: Min. 3” and 9” maximum.
Shorn Suri – 3”
Be sure to read page 8-16 and 8-20 for specifics

Two weeks prior to the show, measure your animal’s fleece again and let the Halter Show Superintendent know if your animal needs to be moved from full fleece to shorn. At Alpacamania 2007, most changes to the halter schedule occurred because of incorrectly reported fleece lengths.

Show Division: Your AOBA membership card lists your Show Division ID Number. Your Show Division number is identified by SD#: Please note this number on the fleece and/or halter entry form. If you don’t have a Show Division number, please remit $75 with your registration.
